According to the study, employers want developers who:

- Can optimize performance.
- Have experience in reviewing and testing code.

Surprisingly, formal education is not the deciding factor when it comes to what companies care about the most. People with computer degrees or certifications on a resume are not necessarily a first choice for hiring managers.
